Weeks 11-13

Week 11:

My original u/s was moved to 11 weeks 3 days vs exactly at 11+0 because the tech’s daughter had the flu. I was of course anxious to make sure everything was ok but waiting another 3 days didn’t kill me. I wasn’t sure they were going to let me have one more u/s at 12 weeks so I decided to give them a parting gift at my 11 week appt. I think you all might get a kick out of it....the staff certainly did!

A custom cookie cake! I was the talk of the office! They even posted it on their Facebook page and IG. I found it rather fitting and hilarious!

The babies looked great and were measuring ahead this week. Both had heart rates in the 170’s.

Week 12:
I was able to squeeze in one more u/s and we were able to HEAR the heartbeats for the first time! Music to this mama’s ears! Baby A punched B in the head as I watched. Little stinker!

 I was able to wean from progesterone and estrogen. Happy day!!! Now if I could just get off the Pred I’d be thrilled!! (I’m a swollen hot mess!!!!)

Week 13:
I had my first appt with Maternal Fetal Medicine (high risk doc) in Birmingham. It was information overload with a very detailed ultrasound of both babies. I also did a genetic screen. The babies have grown so much! We also got a 90% gender guess but you’ll have to wait to find that out! Anyone want to know?!?

 I go to my first OB appt in a couple days. I’m pretty sure that’ll just be an intake type appt and I won’t see the babies but that’s ok. Today I know that they are still alive and kicking!
